The Death of Charlie Kirk
What a heavy topic. How do we cope? Where do we go from here? Our society has reached a point where some folks applaud the fact that a man was murdered for his beliefs and opinions. We are not the same. How does that make us any better than those who chose to take the lives of innocent people on 09/11? Why are we at a point where we can’t be different or have differing opinions and beliefs? Something has to give. It’s okay to have your own beliefs, it’s okay to not think or vote the same way and still be friends and family. How is this world better by taking the life of a father/husband/son/brother/fellow human being?!? How did that young man get it into his head that taking the life of another would solve anything? We need to wake up and teach our children about common decency, empathy, morality, tolerance, how to agree to disagree, and right from wrong. There is no gray area here. Whether or not you liked what he had to say is irrelevant, he was a person whose life was cut short because of hate.
I personally had never heard his name before this happened, so I have absolutely no opinion of what he stood for, but what I can say without a doubt is that he did not deserve to have his life taken because of his beliefs or his words. This division of our country needs to stop. No red or blue, no black or white-just human beings. Come on people, we need to do better! We get this one life; we can make it a better world for those we leave behind or we can continue on this road of leaving it far worse. How is life better by spending so much time and energy on hate? It costs nothing to be kind.
It amazes me that the very people who are against guns and speak of love and kindness for everyone are the same people who applauded his death or think it’s “ironic”.
What?!?
I am a Christ follower and I believe The Bible is God’s Word. If that makes me someone to be hated, then I can live with that, but I won’t stop believing because of those who hate Christians. Would it be “ironic” if I died at the hands of another person who called themselves a Christian? I hope not.
We are outraged by people who hurt animals, but don’t have the same compassion for human beings who disagree with our beliefs?!?
Again-WHAT?!?
WE NEED TO STOP THE HATE THAT SPREADS LIKE WILDFIRE OVER SOCIAL MEDIA.
